God reveals Himself in quietness
As we continue to grow in our understanding of how God speaks, it is important to remember that God often uses times of solitude to communicate. Frequently He will impress upon our hearts a specific action or spiritual truth that needs to be lived out.
In times of quietness, and throughout the rhythm of your day, listen for the Holy Spirit’s whispers… and then respond.

* The emphasis here is on God’s quiet ways. He is not to be found in the spectacular elements of the storm outside the cave but instead in a low whisper. The Hebrew is literally “a voice/sound, a thin silence”. God reveals Himself in quietness. (ESV Study Bible note)
