Rest and Review…
What are you learning and discovering about the way God speaks?
Lectio Divina*
Practice - Choose a passage of 6-8 verses.
Preparation (Silencio) - Relax; express the desire to hear from God. "Come, Lord Jesus." "Here I am." "Speak, for Your servant is listening."
Read (Lectio) - Listen to the word or phrase that speaks to you. Read slowly.
Reflect (Meditatio) - How is your life touched by this word? If the passage tells a story, ask, "How does the dynamic of this story connect with my own life experiences?"
Respond (Oratio) - What is your response to God, based on what you have read and encountered? Read again, listening to your deepest response. Spontaneously pray from your heart, journal, or write a prayer.
Rest (Contemplatio) - Rest in the Word of God. Read again, and wait and rest in God. (Psalm 131:2)
Resolve (Incarnatio) - Live out the Word of God. This is moving from a personal encounter with God into life. How do you live out this truth? What are the action steps to take, as a result of what you have read?
