Day 1

God still speaks…

The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.

Isaiah 50:4 (NIV)

What a wonderful thought, to be awakened by the Lord “morning by morning”! What are your first thoughts when you wake up?

What if… our first thoughts were God’s thoughts?

What if… we trained our minds and hearts to be centered on God’s word? Is it possible? Yes, and necessary if we want to hear God’s voice!

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NIV)

But they delight in the Law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Psalm 1:2-3 (NLT)

Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Joshua 1:8 (NLT)

Remember: God’s primary way of speaking is through His written word. Hear, read, study, memorize and meditate upon it for the rest of your life!

“He wakens my ear to listen…”
